Red Garland w/ John Coltrane - "Dig It" and "High Pressure" At this very
moment.
David Nelson - Nice boot from I think 2005. Does quite a few New Riders'
songs, including a 19-minute "Dirty Business", one of my favorites (the
original had that atomic pedal steel solo by Jerry Garcia. I remember the
very day I first heard that on the radio in 1971 --- blew my mind! The next
song played was "Shine On" by the original Humble Pie, also blew my mind. I
remember weird things).
Grateful Dead - May 1973 boot from Kezar Stadium in Golden Gate Park.
Marathon show, exc. in every way. I wish I'd gone to that one.
Mahavishnu Orchestra - Live boot 11-9-72 Berkeley Community Theater. Nice
FM recording. I was there! Joe Walsh opened.
Springsteen Cover Project - Some dude on Dime did a series of discs of other
bands doing live Bruce covers. Lotta crap here, but a few gems.
Oingo Boingo - "Alive" - Rowdiest album I can think of this side of The Who
"Live At Leeds".
Janis Joplin --- 9-disc bootleg set, can't recall the title. I'm up to disc
8, which includes a fantastic Big Brother performance from the Newport
Festival in 1968.
Last Vinyl Played: "Live in Topanga Canyon" - Canned Heat. One of my
favorite albums in high school. Henry Vestine burns! |
