<20:30 Il Cartellone 17° FESTIVAL DI MILANO MUSICA Suoni
dall'Europa European Workshop for Contemporary Music direttore, Pedro
Amaral regia del suono, Bryan Wolf ingegnere del suono, Jos Mudler
coordinamento tecnico, Massimo Marchi Karlheinz Stockhausen, HYMNEN
(1966/1967-1969)
I guess that as Hymnen with Soloists was withdrawn several years ago,
this will be regions I, II + IV just on tape and III with orchestra |

Be great if you could Alex. Have you heard Hymnen mit O ? where the
orchestra (in Robin Maconie's words) behaves throughout like a giant
sounding board. It's stupedous !
Surely one of the greatest commisions the New York Phil ever made
(along with Carter's Symp for 3 Orchestras).

This same orchestra did Gruppen at Salzburg Festival mid-90s in a
similarly monster-sized concert. At that time the broadcast mixing
made it sound like a percussion concerto. Ridiculous. |

Oh, my dear granny! Natürliche Dauern by itself is an entire evening
concert's worth! Why don't they throw in Carré, Momente, and Licht
while they are at it?!! ;-)
