This morning I woke up at 6 a.m. and it was cold, only 40 degrees. As
I made my cup of coffee, I could only think of one song I wanted to
hear as I sip it -- I Need A Silent Night. Yes, even in mid-October.
But what a great cup of coffee on a cold morning song it makes!

Anyone else have comments on it?

I don't on that song yet, but I'd just like to mention that it's 77 degrees
here right now. Don't feel to badly though. We had frost last week. It's
that time of the year...

Frost already? Sounds good to my allergies. Smile

We just finished enduring one of the 2 annual Myrtle Beach
Harley motorcycle rallies -- so i *seriously* relate
to that song title!

But i haven't bought the music yet, and still can't stand to
think about Christmas! Maybe i should just download that
one song...

What is "I don't on that song yet", for $50 Alex?

Just a light frost, not a hard freeze. It didn't kill anything. In fact, I
have daylilies that were planted very late in spring, and they're kinda
confused. A few of them are still blooming, and one sprouted new buds last
week.

It comes so fast, it seems like half the year is spent on it!
We got our first Christmas catalog in the mail on July 26th,
i kid you not.

Some Christmases have been wonderful but i kind of dread
Christmas now, because instead of being a time-out from
bad feelings, or a comfort in trouble -- which it's message is
supposed to be -- it's such a lot of meaningless pressure
and family issues. Christmas seems to magnify the gloomy
and scary things in life, instead of soothing them.

Last night at Wal-Mart at only 5, an hour before Trick or Treat even
began, they had already put all the candy in the aisles and on
clearance, and were putting up the Christmas aisles where the candy
used to be. So funny.

I LOVE Christmas. My favorite coffee cups are Christmas decorated, and I
usually drink from the collection everyday through the year, with art of
snowflakes to even Santa (no problem). I don't mind being reminded of
Christmas everyday, through the Spring or through the Summer. I love being
reminded of the time that I met the woman that would be my wife - 25 years
after Christmas of 1982 and we married in October of 1983. I love being
reminded of the birth of Jesus. Yet I too am disappointed at the
commercialism of Christmas. Well, what do we expect? Christmas is what YOU
make it, much like, um,... life.

I started rehearsing three weeks ago for my annual A Celtic Christmas show
that I organize for 7 years now. I love playing Christmas music, Irish
style.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ohCk200ZqZI
This shows me playing the Irish drum (bodhran) on Jingle Bells at last
year's show.

Hey!
Listen to Frank Perretti's "All Is Well" story followed by MWSmith's finale.
Get in the mood.
