Just got done with the March issue of Maxim and they give the new album 2.5
out of 5 for their review heres what it said...
"TBC already sounded like grizzled classic rockers on their 1990 debut.
While it certainley was a neat trick for a bunch of wasted 20-somethings to
pull off, it hasn't left CR and the gang much room for growth. Now that
they're legitimatley grizzled, they sound pretty much like they always have:
boozy, competent, and in slavish debt to the Stones, the Allmans and The
Faces" |

Well, that's hardly a legitimate criticism. In debt to the Stones, Allmans and
Faces is why many of us like them. I think the clips sound a bit mellow, myself,
but I'm still looking forward to it. |

Maxim reviews usually only rank high for radio friendly bands.
I must be one of the few Crowes fans that actually doesn't like the Stones
(seen em twice in person once in 88 or 89 Steel Wheels tour and than at
Super Bowl 40) but Ill give them their due anyband who can still tour and
sellout every where they go at 60+yrs old is amazing.

You were at the Super Bowl? Do you not like them just based on what you saw
live, or have you listened to their late 60's early 70's stuff as well? |

Go to blackcrowes.com and read the latest news item. The Maxim

Too bad they never even heard the record before they reviewed it. |

Yeah, I heard about that. It's funny (and good) that they got exposed, but its
troubling how they admitted they did it and act like its no big deal. Pretty
pathetic. Not that I expect Maxim to be a paragon of journalistic virtue. They
exist to show scantily clad women, and god bless them for that. But you would
think the editor would have the tiniest bit of journalistic scruples. Pretty
pathetic what they did. |

Yes I went to SB 40 born in Pittsburgh live in Detroit (about 15 miles south
of it) so I grew up a Steeler fan so I had to go with it being in
Detroit.$750 face value paid $2250 for a pair had some one over me $5000
cash while waiting in line but couldn't do it figured it was a once in a
life time chance. And the Steelers won wich made it worth it.
I do like a couple songs from them Let it Bleed would have to be on the top
of my list, not really sure why I never really liked them just on of those
things, I guess
