SOUNDS OF THE SACRED, SONGS OF THE EARTH
September 18, 2005 Topanga Canyon Community Center
http://www.soundsofthesacred.org/
In the lush green mountains of Topanga, "Sounds of the Sacred, Songs
of the Earth" unveils inspired performances that celebrate spiritual
traditions from across the world. The day's festivities and sunset
concert will bring together Balinese, Tibetan, Hindu, Sufi, Flamenco
and Middle Eastern music.
Temple Mantras stir the soul with the Tibetan Terton, Kunzang Rinpoche
and the Monks & Nuns of Zangdokpalri. Flamenco pianist, Pedro Ricardo
Miņo ignites us with his Gypsy roots. Renowned Sufi, Omar Faruk
Tekbilek and Ensemble share the spiritual calls that echo throughout
time. Eclectic sounds and rhythms of the Hani Naser Band, with Walfredo
Reyes Jr., Armand Sabal-Lecco and Craig Eastman light up the night.
This ensemble with special guest artists perform a World Premičre
'tour de force' composed for this night by Richard Horowitz.

sounds and rhythms of Llanto's "the flamenco cry of life", Gaia
Mama's "Tibetan sounds of the earth", Bali & Beyond's "the
music and shadow theatre of Bali" and "theatre for the soul" with
the poetry of Rumi and Tagore. Enjoy Thai, Indian, Balinese cuisines,
fresh coconut juice, international treats and drinks from around the
world.
