A Symphonic Spooktacular!
Pianist Navah Perlman and CSUF University Symphony Orchestra

Perlman's "poise...infallible, her expressive liberties in excellent
taste." -- Pittsburgh Tribune-Review

A Symphonic Spooktacular welcomes the lyrical and poetic pianist,
Navah Perlman (yes, Itzhak's daughter!), performing Beethoven's Piano
Concerto No. 3 in C minor Op. 37. Led by Kimo Furumoto the University
Symphony Orchestra will also perform some of the greatest music used
to muster up spooks and haunt the night including Berlioz's dramatic
"March to the Scaffold" from Symphony Fantastique, Mussorsky's Night
on Bald Mountain a dramatic "Fantasia" favorite and Grieg's chilling
Peer Gynt Suite.

Performance at:
Meng Concert Hall
Cal State Fullerton's Performing Arts Center

Navah Perlman's playing has been called "graceful and
secure" (Philadelphia Inquirer) and a "sensuous pleasure" (Denver
Post). The daughter of violinist Itzhak Perlman has carved a
successful solo career in addition to a full schedule of performances
with orchestras throughout the world.

Career highlights:
- Member of the Perlman/Schmidt/Bailey Trio
- Has performed with orchestras from the Toronto and Chicago
Symphonies to the Israel Philharmonic and Prague Symphony
- Played piano in Woody Allen's "Everyone Says I Love You"
- Her recital recordings of Bach, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Chopin and
Prokofiev are available on EMI Classics.

The University Symphony Orchestra, under the leadership of Kimo
Furumoto continues to receive recognition for their Meng Concert Hall
performances.
